PayPal запускает сервис оплаты криптовалютой

PayPal разрешит американским пользователям расплачиваться криптовалютой по всему миру. Теперь они смогут конвертировать биткоины, эфир, биткоин кэш и лайткоины в фиатные валюты для совершения покупок.

Сервис Checkout with Crypto в ближайшие месяцы станет доступным для 29 млн продавцов, которые работают с PayPal.

Платежная система надеется, что ее сервис позволит участникам избежать рисков, связанных с волатильностью криптовалют, проводя операции в фиатной валюте.

Компания не будет взимать комиссию за транзакцию при оформлении заказа с использованием криптовалюты, и для каждой покупки можно будет использовать только один тип монеты.

«Впервые вы сможете без дополнительных усилий использовать криптовалюту таким же образом, как кредитную или дебетовую карту в вашем кошельке PayPal», — заявил президент и генеральный директор PayPal Дэн Шульман.

В обсуждении новости отмечается, что новая система не сможет конкурировать с BitPay, пока PayPal не позволит пользователям вносить и снимать криптовалюту, а также будет поддерживать только отдельные монеты.

PayPal предоставила своим американским клиентам доступ к криптовалютам еще в ноябре прошлого года. Плату за хранение криптовалюты с клиентов также не берут.
