RAMP Token Utility Design

The RAMP token (“RAMP”) is issued by RAMP DEFI as utility token powering ecosystem value and aligning the interests of all ecosystem participants.

1. RAMP Token Staking

• Staking of the RAMP token is an important mechanism within the RAMP ecosystem.
• It confers substantial benefits to users who stake their RAMP tokens, including: (i) value distribution from the rPool; (ii) governance rights; and (iii) increased farming efficiency.

2. Stake for Regular Value Distributions

• Users who stake RAMP token is eligible for rewards from the weekly rPool distributions.

3. Stake for Ecosystem Governance

• RAMP holders holding 1% of RAMP’s total supply shall be eligible to raise a Change Proposal (“CP”).
• RAMP holders can cast their votes for each CP by staking, and the RAMP staked for raising CPs and cast votes are returned 15 days after the end of each CP voting round.
• Each CP is subject to a quorum requirement to be passed.
• The final governance structure and details shall be released at a later stage.

4. Stake to Increase Farming Efficiency

• The RAMP token, when staked, empowers ecosystem participants engaged in liquidity farming in the RAMP ecosystem with greater farming efficiency through a “Farming Power” mechanism.
• The yield farming model on RAMP works as below:

5. Referral and Development Programs

• Users receive RAMP tokens as referral rewards for bringing in new participants into the RAMP ecosystem, and developers receive RAMP tokens as development rewards for assisting in product and technical development (such as integration bridges with new blockchain ecosystems).

6. Deflationary Token Burn

• Proceeds captured in the rPool can be used to repurchase and burn RAMP tokens to create a deflationary mechanism. The exact mechanisms may be raised as a CP for governance to decide on at a later stage.

Drivers of Token Utility

RAMP is designed as a utility and governance token, and functions as such with no characteristics of a security nor any promised forms of returns.

The utility of RAMP is expected to increase along with:

1. Growth in rUSD and eUSD issuance;
2. Growth in borrowing / lending activities on rFinance;
3. Growth in the value accrued within rPool;
4. Growth in cross-chain swaps on rSwap; and
5. Growth in yield farming and governance participation in the RAMP ecosystem.

Models on the ramp

An open-source bottom-up stochastic model for generating multi-energy load profiles.

RAMP is a bottom-up stochastic model for the generation of high-resolution multi-energy profiles, conceived for application in contexts where only rough information about users’ behaviour are obtainable. Those may range from remote villages to whole countries.

The source-code is currently released as v0.3.0. It is not yeat accompained by a detailed documentation, but the Python code is fully commented in each line to allow a complete understanding of it. Further details about the conceptual and mathematical model formulation are provided in the related Journal publication (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.energy.2019.04.097).

The repository also hosts all the input files used to generate the profiles appearing in the abovementioned study, which may be also used as a reference example. To access the code version used for the Journal publication, select the tag «v.0.1-pre». An up-to-date list of all publications featuring RAMP, for a variety of applications, is available here.

The model is developed in Python 3.6, and requires the following libraries:

To get started, download the repository and simply run the «ramp_run.py» script. The console will ask how many profiles (i.e. independent days) need to be simulated, and will provide the results based on the default inputs defined in input_file_1 .py and input_file_2 . To change the inputs, just modify the latter files. Some guidance about the meaning of each input parameter is available in the core.py file, where the User and Appliance Python classes are defined and fully commented.
